Black Dirt Improv: 2026-27 Audition Workshop and Auditions

BDT Improv returns for another exciting season!

Auditions for our 2026-27 Improv teams will take place on
Friday & Sunday, September 18 & 20.

We will also hold an improv workshop on Thursday, September 17
for anyone who wants to come and and play before auditions.

This is a great chance for people new to improv comedy who want to try it
out and for those who feel like brushing up their skills before auditioning.
 

The workshop and auditions will take place at the BDT Improv rehearsal space.
An address will be sent once you have signed up for a spot in signup genius.

Note on Workshop:
Workshop will be the full two hour time slot, if unable to make it
the full time you are welcome to join for the time you are available.

2026-2027 Performances 

Continuing this season, the Improv teams will perform on Saturday evenings,
every 3 weeks, starting in January 2027. That information is below:

January 9, January 30, February 20, March 13, April 3, April 24, May 15, & June 5.

the history of BLACK DIRT IMPROV

In 2011, Black Dirt Theater started an improv troupe for the winter season.  It started with a rotating list of six local performers and have grown into a professional troupe with a roster from across the Twin Cities of about 10 people in our Black Dirt Improv team.
