In 2024, Black Dirt Improv RETURNS with an all-new format, and an all-new venue!
The American Legion Post 47 on the riverfront of Hastings welcomes Black Dirt Improv to the stage starting Friday, January 12 at 7pm! With this new venue comes our new format! Both our Improv Teams will be performing on the SAME NIGHT! The American Legion Post 47 shows are also designated 18+ so our performers can try more daring material. Grab your friend-group, make a date with your sweetie, come down to the American Legion for a few drinks and a LOT of laughs!
For a more Family-Friendly show, we’re thrilled to bring the new dual-team format to the Hastings Public House for a second year! With a menu packed full of amazing food the whole family will enjoy (as well as their fantastic bar!) the Hastings Public House is the perfect place to start the night with dinner! Come down early to eat - and the hilarious Improv starts at 8pm! The first show here is on January 26th!

the history of BLACK DIRT IMPROV
In 2011, Black Dirt Theater started an improv troupe for the winter season. It started with a rotating list of six local performers and have grown into a professional troupe with a roster from across the Twin Cities of about 10 people in our Black Dirt Improv team.
